We hope you got insight from reading it, now let's go back to fondant recipe. To make fondant you only need 7 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you do it.

The ingredients needed to make Fondant:

  1. You need 3/4 cup of water.
  2. Get 2 TBS of gelatin.
  3. Get 2 TBS of glycerin.
  4. You need 2 TBS of shortening.
  5. Take 200 gms of glucose powder.
  6. Prepare 2 of kgs icing sugar.
  7. Get 1 of tspn vanilla essence.

Instructions to make Fondant:

  1. In a steel bowl,add in water and pour in the gelatin, wait for it to bloom.
  2. Once bloomed add in the glucose powder, glycerin, shortening and vanilla essence.
  3. Double boil the mixture as you mix to incorporate well till it fully mixes.
  4. In a large bowl sieve the icing sugar and make a well and pour in the melted gelatin mixture.
  5. First stir with a wooden spoon, when well incorporate put the mixture on a fondant mat and start kneading by hand till you achieve a smooth texture, but do not overwork it.
  6. Once done, roll the fondant in cling film and let it rest for 8 hrs..
  7. When ready to use, knead it again to activate it, apply a little shortening on hands before starting to knead.
  8. Roll it with a normal chapati roller by dusting corn flour on surface so that your fondant does not stick, to neither thick nor thin thickness and to desired cake size.
  9. Cover your coated cake with the fondant, trim the edges and smoothen with a fondant smoother.
  10. Add in your desired deco, I added edible lace as part of my deco.
