The ingredients needed to make Simple Potato Bread:

  1. Provide 3 tbsp of ★Instant mashed potato flakes.
  2. Take 100 ml of ★Boiled water.
  3. Provide 170 grams of Bread (strong) flour (you can also mix in a bit of whole-wheat flour).
  4. Prepare 2 tsp of Baking powder.
  5. Take 1/2 tsp of Salt.
  6. Take 3 tbsp of Parmesan cheese (optional).
  7. Prepare 50 ml of Water.
  8. You need 1 dash of Rolled oats (for topping).

Instructions to make Simple Potato Bread:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C..
  2. Mix the ★ instant mashed potatoes and boiled water well. (You can substitute with mashed potatoes 100 g + 1 tablespoon of milk.).
  3. Add the remaining ingredients except for the topping in the order from the list to Step 2. Knead until the mixture becomes a soft earlobe-like consistency..
  4. Divide the dough into 8 portions, and roll into balls. Dab on a bit of water and sprinkle the surfaces with oatmeal to your liking..
  5. Reduce the oven temperature to 180°C, and bake for about 15 minutes until they become crispy and golden brown..
  6. They're great when fresh out of the oven, so warm them up in a toaster oven when cooled. They'll become crispy and tasty again!.
  7. Variation 1: [Butter flavour] Add 1 tablespoon of butter instead of cheese..
  8. Variation 2: Add 1 egg to make them even fluffier. Reduce the amount of water by 1 tablespoon..
  9. Variation 3: [Kabocha squash] This is a variation by Cookpad user "Yosshi". She added kabocha squash flakes, butter, and poppy seeds..
